Since moving to Astoria, we've tried different places, and this morning -- after dropping off the kids, then running back to the house to get the forks I forgot to put in their lunches and then running those forks back to their respective schools -- I and my laptop headed for Coffee Girl.
On Pier 39 on the east side of Astoria, it sticks out into the Columbia River and has an amazing view of ships, gulls, and of course -- sea lions. Pier 39 is pretty cool anyway. It's a working pier, with several businesses on it -- The Rogue Ales Public House, executive offices, artist loft rentals, Four Winds Canvas Works -- an awesome shop that makes bags and totes from marine fabric scraps, boat facilities, a canning operation, and somewhere in here they tell me you can buy Dungeness crab straight from the source.
And now I'm off on my next adventure -- I need to get a new driver's license (I'm a few days late, oops) -- and the TARDIS needs new plates. It's like jewelry for your car! I want to do vanity plates, but I'm not sure if I want to PAY for that.... good grief, it's like an extra $100! WHAT
We'll see. :-)
Have a great rest of your week.
