(I can't believe the Blogging From A to Z Blog Challenge is almost over!! Unreal! Unbelievable!)
There are so many great words that start with U -- Unicorn, Ultimate, Undulate, Unicycle, Ukulele...
I just don't have a ton of things to say about any one of them, but my kids both know how to ride a UNICYCLE.... they know how to juggle too. Those skills help when you find yourself on a sports performance team that also does tumbling and double dutch.
But my youngest daughter loves UNICORNS. Not that whole frilly pink girl thing about unicorns... she sees them as real as dragons, elves, and fairies. Like they're real creatures, or at least she'd like them to be. Pegasus ponies, alacorns (I don't know how to spell this... when a unicorn has wings?)... she loves the Guardians of Ga'Hoole books where the owls are the main characters, she loves the Cat Warrior books where felines take center stage. So unicorns are definitely covered in our home. And as a side note, she would love a UKULELE for Christmas.
And let's see..... in college I remember sitting on the grass to the side of the main grass field in the center of campus, watching the idiot boys play ULTIMATE Frisbee in the grass. Why were they idiots? Because Seattle (at least at that time) was overcome with Canada geese and the campus of the University of Washington was no different. So basically the Frisbee boys, who spent most of their playing time sliding on the grass, were *covered* in goose shit. Seriously. Covered. Head to toe. Goose shit.
Now, UNDULATE is a very pretty word and I don't really have a story to go with it, but I have a photo. I took this in Beijing, China. It was a wall outside of the pearl factory we visited, and when I was outside waiting for everyone to regroup, I saw this wall with the undulating top, the bikes, the tile roof... it was so perfect.
