One way to solve this issue was that we literally moved to vacation. Astoria, Oregon is where millions of other people come every year in order to *be on vacation* and we're already here, so that's a point in our favor. We don't have to stay in some nasty hotel (I hate typical hotels, did you know? They always make me sick with their strange combo of leftover germs and random bleached cleanliness.... makes no sense, but I call it "hotel head" and always bring plenty of antihistamines.) and we can travel around on the odd good day in the off season and see much more than any tourist could ever hope to see, so that's pretty awesome.
But it would be really cool to take an ACTUAL vacation.... that one where you pack a suitcase, grab your passport, and get on one of those airplanes. We haven't been on an airplane since our last adoption trip, and that was way way way too many years ago.
So that is one of my goals --- be able to afford to get our asses on a plane to go on a real vacation somewhere cool we've never been before. Scotland, England, Ireland, France... somewhere!!
